Job Summary

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Inspects, maintains, and repairs all electronic devices supporting Parking Transportation Services operations. This includes, but is not limited to, access and revenue control equipment across more than 70 lanes in 14 facilities, such as pay-on-foot stations, exit verifiers, industrial PCs, ticket dispensers, card readers, control gates, ticket validators, and parking meters.
  • Perform hardware troubleshooting and resolve common equipment issues in the field. Responsibilities include
  • Repairs or replaces damaged gates.
  • Provides exceptional customer support while assisting customers with jammed credit cards, stuck tickets, or bill acceptor issues.
  • Restores equipment functionality to maintain traffic flow and ensure accurate revenue collection.
  • Conducts daily PCI compliance checks, including inspections for skimming devices that could compromise credit card security.
  • Assists the Accounting team with audits and reconciliations related to parking revenue systems.

General Responsibilities

  • Performs technical work: installs and maintains electronic equipment, performs preventive maintenance, makes repairs and performs upgrades to various systems in order to maintain optimal performance, reliability, and accuracy of the data produced by instrumentation.
  • Supports integration and regular testing of instruments.
  • Maintains service and repair records for all applicable equipment.
  • Gathers price comparisons for budget.
  • Keeps up with the latest technology.
  • Makes informed recommendations to leadership.
  • May assist customers with tech support.

EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 1 year of electronics design, modification, trouble-shooting, and repair experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Preferred

  • Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by Indiana University may be required upon hire.

  • Familiarity with computer-controlled machine equipment, mills, lathes, welding techniques, hand tools, crane, and forklift operations.

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position as well as the ability to move about the workplace for long durations. It requires effective communication, the ability to operate machinery, tools, and controls. The role requires the ability to ascend/descend ladders/stairs, and to position one's self in low level positions, detect a variety of chemicals and/or gases. The role requires the ability to ascend to rooftops and move in tight spaces to perform and complete inspections. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary

Salary for the position is $42,161.60 per year
