Job Description
The minimum salary is $17.415 per hour
This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.
Pay Grade 511
This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) and CDL pay ($1.08/hour) once obtained within the required first six (6) months of employment.

The purpose of this classification is to perform skilled and semi-skilled work operating equipment and performing manual labor to maintain, repair, and improve streets, roads, and related infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient roadway operations within the local government jurisdiction
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Two (2) years of related experience
- Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
- Operate paving, surfacing, tamping, and related heavy equipment to maintain and repair, streets, roads, and parking areas
- Performs manual labor tasks such as patching potholes, clearing debris, digging trenches, and preparing surfaces for paving or repair
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment to and from job sites using hand tools and machinery
- Support traffic control efforts during maintenance and repair operations to ensure public and worker safety
- Assists with any other tasks as needed
- Leads a small work crew as needed
- Respond to emergency road repairs and snow removal operations as needed
- Performs related work as assigned
All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B and Endorsement N - Tank Vehicles within the first six (6) months of employment
- All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
- Must be accessible for on-call duty and be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned and during emergencies.
- Positions are required to perform snow removal duties during weather emergencies.
