Job DescriptionThe HRIS & Compensation Specialist serves as a key support function within
Human Resources, responsible for maintaining accurate employee and position data while supporting compensation programs and processes. This
role manages HR system transactions within Oracle HCM (myHR), ensures the integrity of employee and job data, and supports job evaluation,
market pricing, and compensation initiatives. The Specialist also provides customer service support to the campus community, serves as
back-up for the HR front desk and HR Assistant, and contributes to system testing and process improvement efforts.
Essential
Functions: HRIS & Employee Data Management - Process new hire paperwork, employee action forms
(EAFs), and personnel changes within the myHR/Oracle system.
- Enter and monitor new hire records, ensuring completion and accuracy
of onboarding process flows.
- Process and audit employee self-service transactions and changes.
- Serve as back-up to the
HR Assistant, including covering the HR front desk and providing customer service support to employees and managers.
- Assist with
HRIS testing and validation of Oracle payroll and system updates to ensure functionality and data accuracy.
- Maintain accurate
employee, job, and position records; identify and resolve data discrepancies.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts
related to HR transactions, workflows, and system processes.
Compensation & Job Classification Support
- Conduct job evaluations by reviewing job descriptions, analyzing duties and responsibilities, determining appropriate classifications,
and recommending placement within salary structures. Collect, analyze, and interpret market salary survey data; match internal roles to
external benchmarks and prepare market comparison summaries.
- Maintain job descriptions by updating content for accuracy,
consistency, and proper classification in collaboration with HR generalists and managers.
- Support annual and off-cycle compensation
programs, including merit, market, and bonus processes.
- Audit employee records and troubleshoot compensation-related system issues
within Oracle.
- Assist with manager-initiated Individual Compensation Plan (ICP) requests, including troubleshooting submission
issues and ensuring proper approval routing.
- Review and audit ICP transactions to ensure alignment with compensation policies,
accuracy, and correct coding prior to final processing.
Position Management & Organizational Support
- Create, update, and audit position records to ensure accurate reporting relationships, job data, and position attributes.
- Process and validate position requests, reclassifications, reorganizations, and structural changes.
- Support organizational
reporting and workforce planning through accurate position management.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's
degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 year of
experience in HRIS, Compensation, or related functional areas.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms and employee data management
preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, - Working knowledge of HRIS systems, payroll processes, and
employee data management best practices.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain data accuracy and confidentiality.
