Hardware Installation & Maintenance
● Install, configure, and maintain physical servers, storage systems, and network devices.
● Perform regular hardware diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and equipment replacements.
● Rack, stack, and cable data center equipment according to industry standards.
Network Support
● Assist with setup and maintenance of network infrastructure (switches, routers, patch panels).
● Troubleshoot connectivity issues at the hardware level (LAN/WAN, cabling, ports).
● Work with network teams to implement changes or upgrades.
Systems Monitoring & Troubleshooting
● Perform site inspections, Daily/Weekly walkthrough and equipment audits to ensure operational compliance and safety.
● Monitor the health and performance of systems using monitoring tools.
● Quickly respond to and resolve alarms, outages, and hardware failures.
● Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and infrastructure issues in a timely manner.
● Conduct root cause analysis and document resolutions.
Power & Cooling Management
● Monitor and support critical power infrastructure (UPS, PDUs, generators).
● Maintain proper cooling standards by working with HVAC systems and airflow designs.
● Ensure uptime through environmental monitoring and response (e.g., temperature, humidity).
Security & Compliance
● Enforce physical security policies, access controls, and visitor protocols.
● Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal audit requirements.
● Maintain documentation for access logs, equipment inventory, and changes.
Documentation & Inventory
● Maintain detailed records of hardware configurations, asset inventory, cabling diagrams, and incidents.
● Keep documentation updated for standard operating procedures (SOPs).
● Track spare parts and coordinate procurement with supply chain teams.
Collaboration & Support
● Provide hands-on support to remote engineering, operations, and vendor teams.
● Assist in deployments, migrations, and data center expansion projects.
● Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs and RMAs (Return Material Authorizations).
Upgrades & Optimization
● Participate in capacity planning, hardware refreshes, and performance optimization.
● Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, or decommissions.
On-Call & Emergency Response
● Be available for on-call rotations or emergency interventions.
● Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to HCL policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to HCL policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off (PTO) per year (some positions are eligible for unlimited PTO); and 10 paid holidays per year.
